PIGEON OUT · 1.0.0-beta.19.3

How to play

A little panic. A lot of snacks. One very unlucky pigeon.

Quick start

Escape, collect, and choose the shortest route

Press Play, read the quick controls card, and press GO! to start. Guide the pigeon through the maze, collect every candy, use boosts wisely, and avoid the bugs. Completing a level unlocks a new maze with slightly faster characters.

Collect every candy. Keep away from the bugs. Use your boosts wisely.
Boost messages stay here for 5 seconds, unless a new one arrives

Language

Choose English or Italian on the first card, before Play or GO! The game uses your browser language by default. Language selection is locked for each arcade run; it becomes available again after Game Over.

Pigeon protagonist

The pigeon

Collects candies, foods, boosts, and dropped eggs. Distance counts every cell travelled.

Enemy bug

The bugs

Two bugs chase the pigeon using different routes. Their decisions gradually become more accurate from Level 1 to Level 5, without slowing them down. Frozen, fading, or disabled bugs are harmless.

Boost progression

New mechanics are introduced gradually and remain available in every later level.

Boosts and special objects

Rainbow

Makes bugs harmless for 7 seconds. They normally keep chasing; Annie's aura and a Birthday Poop hit can make them flee.

Filippo the golden fish

Filippo

Available from Level 2. After you earn 3,000 points in the current level, he appears on a cleared route cell only if you have fewer than 6 lives. With 6 lives, he appears as soon as you lose one in that level. Collect him to gain 1 life, up to 6 total.

Smartina

Available from Level 2 and appears after 45% of the candies are collected. It slows bugs to 60% speed for 7 seconds, but they keep chasing and remain dangerous.

Repellent Spray

Available from Level 4 and hidden until at least 80% of the level's initial candies are collected, rounded up. It protects for up to 10 seconds; the first bug touched fades for 3 seconds and disappears until the next level.

Annie the dog

Annie

Available from Level 3. She appears on a cleared route cell after every Food has been collected. Her orange aura scares bugs away and makes contact harmless for 20 seconds.

Baby Brian

Baby Brian

Available from Level 3 after 60% of the candies. Baby Brian grants 900–1,800 dynamic points. You have 25 seconds to collect the shower: the last 5 seconds flash, then Brian becomes Hater Brian, a chasing enemy. The countdown pauses with the game. Without the shower, collecting Baby Brian freezes the pigeon for 3 seconds. Brian disappears when you lose a life.

Protective shower

Shower

Appears together with Baby Brian at 60% of the candies. Pick it up within 25 seconds to prevent Hater Brian; collect it before Baby Brian to avoid the 3-second freeze. The shower disappears when you lose a life.

Egg pan

Available from Level 1. One appears for every 1,000 points earned in the current level. Collect it to leave an active egg on that cell.

Friendly egg

Egg traps

Start with 1 egg and carry up to 5. Recover eggs from the path or leave them active to freeze bugs for 5 seconds. Frozen bugs are covered by a fried-egg candy. Inventory carries to the next level.

Birthday Poop

Birthday Poop

One Birthday Poop can be thrown per maze level: press Left Shift on desktop or the Poop button on mobile. The shot targets the nearest active bug by direct distance and travels in a straight line, so walls or moving bugs can cause a miss. A hit makes the bug flee for 5 seconds, but it remains dangerous to touch.

Hideout

A shelter is always available in the maze without collecting a boost. Enter to become invisible and safe from bugs for up to 10 seconds. When time runs out, you are visible and vulnerable even if you remain inside. Leaving ends protection immediately; after exiting, wait 5 seconds before hiding again.

Annie and Repellent Spray cannot be collected while the other power is active. The blocked pickup stays in its maze cell. Return after the current effect expires or Spray has been used.

Bonus Stage

PERFECT LEVEL → Food Slice: complete any maze level without losing a life to earn a 20-second Food Slice bonus. Drag your mouse or finger to slice Foods (100 points each, +25 per combo step); never hit the finger or the challenge ends immediately. A regained life does not erase a previous hit. The artwork changes at each earned appearance and cycles after 10 variants.

On every third level, the original rotating Bonus Stage remains available. If you also earn PERFECT, you play Food Slice first, followed by the scheduled Bonus Stage, and only then continue to the next maze. Both bonuses add their points to the overall score; the main lives/eggs are unaffected.

Candy Maze: From Level 9, collect candies along every open corridor in a different maze with golden walls and the same visual style as the main game. Each candy awards 20 points. You have 30 seconds; no enemies, boosts or eggs. Bonus Stages rotate every three levels: Avocado Catch (3), Food Dash (6), Candy Maze (9), Memory (12), then repeat.

A short instructions card appears before each challenge; press GO! when ready. The timer starts after confirmation.

After every 3 main levels, bonus challenges alternate. In the avocado stage, move left and right to catch avocados for 150 points each while avoiding knives; it lasts up to 35 seconds. In the maze stage, collect as many Foods as possible in 20 seconds for 100 points each. There are no enemies or boosts in the maze challenge. In Memory, match 8 pairs of cards before the time or move limit; matched pairs give points, and completing the board gives an extra bonus. Bonus points are added to the general score. Lives, eggs, and main-level progress are preserved.

PiccioLoot

PiccioLoot can appear through five sources: Food Slice (50% per round, at most 2), every 25,000 points, Rainbow + Smartina/Annie/Spray within 10 playing seconds in the same level, a route at least 90% as efficient as the verified optimum with no deaths, or four different successful Bonus Stages. Bonuses require at least half the actual objects without hitting the finger/knife; Memory must be completed. Successful repeated types do not advance the streak; any failure resets it. Route and streak prizes appear in the next maze. Every prize requires physical slicing or pickup and comes from the same pool.

In Food Slice, slice the flying PiccioLoot to collect it. Rare PiccioLoot have a golden ring and halo; common ones have a white ring and halo: if you miss it, you do not receive it. Collecting one gives no points, Food combos, lives or boosts.

Tap or click the PiccioLoot sphere in the HUD to open this game’s inventory. The game pauses while you look at your finds and resumes when you close the panel.

In the inventory and final badge, common PiccioLoot have a background glow and border matching their category color; rare PiccioLoot keep a gold border and glow over their category color. In Food Slice, the ring and halo are gold for rare PiccioLoot and white for common ones.

Only PiccioLoot collected in this game appear in its final badge and downloaded PNG, as images without names. Each item can be collected only once per game, even across levels. A new game starts with an empty inventory; no collection history is saved yet.

Local Game Over badges

When a run ends, the game creates a badge based on your final score directly in your browser. It celebrates your run without public rankings, accounts, or sending results online.

The badge includes the Pigeon OUT character and can be saved locally with the Download badge PNG button shown at Game Over.

Your badge is a souvenir, not an online leaderboard.

Foods

Five Foods are selected from this collection for every level. Collect them for bonus points. From Level 3 onward, collecting all five reveals Annie.

Levels and scoring

  • The Active Boost cell in the header shows every active pigeon power, its icon, and the remaining seconds.
  • Smartina appears after 45% of the initial candies have been collected.
  • Repellent Spray appears on a cleared safe cell only after at least 80% of the initial candies have been collected, rounded up.
  • Collect every candy to complete the level.
  • Each new level starts with at least 3 lives; extra lives remaining above 3 carry over, up to 6.
  • A new run starts with 1 egg; collected eggs carry between levels, up to 5.
  • An egg pan appears every 1,000 points earned within the current level.
  • The 3,000-point Filippo target restarts from zero in every level from Level 2 onward.
  • Filippo grants one life up to a maximum of 6. At 6 lives he stays hidden until you lose one in that level.
  • Character speed increases noticeably as the levels progress.
  • A shorter route earns up to 1,500 bonus points; repeated cells reduce the bonus.
  • The left/right side tunnel is locked during the first 15 seconds of active gameplay in every level. Its orange gates show the remaining time; pausing also pauses this countdown.
  • After the gates open, use the four edge tunnels to cross to the opposite side.

Controls

Desktop

↑↓←→ or WASD

Space Drop an egg   Left Shift Throw Birthday Poop   Enter Pause / resume

Sound: use the speaker button in the header to mute or enable music and effects.

Mobile controls

Swipe on the maze: move your finger anywhere on the maze; the joystick mirrors the gesture. Or drag the red joystick knob directly.
  • Move: swipe anywhere within the maze or drag the virtual joystick below it. Both controls accept only up, down, left and right, never diagonals.
  • Turn ahead: swipe briefly in the desired direction or hold the joystick there. A requested turn blocked by a wall is remembered for the first available intersection.
  • Release: the knob returns automatically to the centre when you release the joystick. Each maze swipe also moves the red knob briefly in the same direction before returning to the centre; this visual feedback does not stop the pigeon.
  • Egg: use the separate Egg button to place an egg.
  • Birthday Poop: use the separate Poop button to throw your one Birthday Poop for this maze level.
  • Pause: use the separate Pause/Play button.
  • Layout: Pause is above the Egg and Poop buttons on the left of the joystick. When Play starts, the page scrolls only as much as needed to keep the controls above the phone's browser bar.
  • Bonus Stage: use left and right for Avocado Catch, all four directions for Food Dash and Candy Maze, or tap matching cards in Memory. In Food Slice, swipe directly on the game canvas with mouse or touch. The Egg button is disabled.

The joystick ignores a stationary or off-centre initial touch until the finger moves intentionally. Short accidental taps on the maze do not move the pigeon. Browser scrolling is blocked only on the joystick and on the maze during normal gameplay; the remaining page stays scrollable. Bonus Stage touch controls are unchanged.
